Artist Statement
"I hope that the contours, brush strokes and colours on my paintings should speak to the viewers' senses and prejudices. I want people to look at my creation and feel something. I want them to be turned on, seduced, saddened or even repulsed, it is only then that I believe something worthwhile had been created".
After traveling all over the world and attempting to live in 3 different continents since 1998 running from myself, searching for something, trying to fill the void, it was in 2008 that i finally decided to enrol in an art school after the birth of my daughter. Drawing naked women had always been my passion since i was a child strangely enough. As my life continue to undergo unpleasant changes, through painting i am able to pacify my restlessness, be at peace with myself and stay focused. The works of Euan Uglow, Lucian Freud, Jenny Saville, Marlene Dumas and Alex Danevsky interests me the most and strive to study them in great depth. Paintings displayed here are works in progress.
